James Lynn Davis, 92, formerly of Henderson, NV died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 three days before his 93rd Birthday. He passed peacefully at Nathan Adelson Hospice, Las Vegas, NV. Born in Pennsylvania, on January 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Le Roy and Pearl (LaRue) Davis.

James joined the United States Navy and served in World War II, he was wounded in action and the recipient of a Purple Heart. He then worked as a wire winder at Stanley Bostitch, while living in East Greenwich, RI. This is where he first met his lifelong friends, Carolyn Dugas and the late Thomas Dugas, who recently passed in February of 2018.

James was like a father figure to Thomas and Carolyn, he quickly became one of the family. He was known as “Grandpa” by all four of Thomas’s and Carolyn’s children, Brenda Tabele, Kim Grenier, Michelle Sinacori, and the late Thomas M. Dugas. He was also known as Great Grandpa to Todd Tabele, Amber Hart, Melissa Grenier, and Zshelby Sinacori.

He even made it to Great Great Grandpa status, Gavin Hart was his Great Great Grandson. James retired from Stanley Bostitch and moved out to Henderson, Nevada in June of 1998 with the rest of the Dugas family. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40.

James was a faithful communicant of St. Paul’s Charismatic Episcopal Church, where he made many close friends, one of his closest friends was Jeff Hunt. Jeff was kind enough to pick James up on Sundays and give him a ride to church. James loved music, he loved singing and dancing, he especially loved singing in church.

James also loved to go fishing. He taught his grandchildren how to fish. James lived a long good life and brought happiness to all those who knew him.

He had a great sense of humor and a kind, caring sensitive heart! A viewing will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Hwy Ste 1, Boulder City, NV 89005. His funeral will be held immediately after at 10:20 am in the chapel with Military Honors, followed by a Graveside Burial Service at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
