James Mark McGrann, 62, of Mystic, passed away on February 10, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Mark was born in Centerville on June 5, 1956 to James H. and Carol (Barbaglia) McGrann. Mark married Elaine Brown and to this union, two daughters were born: Gina and Tiffany.

The couple later divorced. He has spent the past 20 years with his significant other, Carla Cochran. Mark grew up on the McGrann family mink farm where he enjoyed spending many days working.

After graduating Centerville High School in 1974, Mark worked as a foreman for Varese Manufacturing Company and as a production supervisor at Young Radiator Company before spending several years at Bemis, where he was currently employed. Mark was a family man. His family always came first and he always enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

He also enjoyed: fishing, hunting and taking great pride in maintaining his home and yard. Mark is survived by his significant other, Carla Cochran; daughters: Gina (Chad) Malone and Tiffany (Andrew) Rose; mother, Carol O’Hair; stepmother, Jerri McGrann, sisters: Diane DalPonte (Steve Hiatt) and Julie McGrann (Barry Conner); step-brothers: Bill (Dianne) Darrah and Bob (Lee) Darrah; step-children: Jamie (Jaime) Cochran, Jennifer (Quentin) Williamson and Ted Cochran; grandchildren: Lily, Emery and Jagger Rose, Briar, Emma, Sophie, Briella and Camden Cochran, Darby, Baker and Shelby Williamson and Jarrett and Cole Malone; nieces and nephews: Danny Thomas, Mandy Bitterman, Kyle DalPonte, Jackie (Jack) Stajcar and Amber (Jake) Turner. He was preceded in death by his father, James; sister, Eileen Thomas; step-father, Jack O’Hair; maternal grandparents: John and Mildred Barbaglia and paternal grandparents: James Levon and Fairy Ruth McGrann.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Interment will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery in Mystic. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Highland Cemetery and online condolences may be shared at www.
