Pauline C. Trout, age 93, of Moravia, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at Corydon Specialty Care in Corydon. She was born March 3, 1926 in Mystic, Iowa on a farm, the daughter of William and Mamie (Young) Lloyd. Pauline graduated from Eldora High School in 1944.

She continued her education at Centerville Community College where she earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Pauline was united in marriage to Melvin Keith Trout on December 12, 1945 in Eldora, Iowa. To this union of marriage, the couple were blessed with four children, Lori, Melvin, Jim and Michael.

Pauline began her career in the nursing field as an LPN in 1968. A nurse for twenty-seven years, she worked at several establishments, including numerous nursing homes, Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Golden Age Nursing Home in Centerville, and Bloomfield Care Center. She retired from the Bloomfield Care Center in 1989.

Throughout her lifetime, Pauline enjoyed collecting humming birds. She also enjoyed crafts and could often be seen attending craft shows, a hobby she engaged in for many years. Pauline also liked crocheting, and as a symbol of the love she possessed for her family, she made an afghan for every grandson and an embroidered quilt for every granddaughter.

Furthermore, Pauline cherished her flower garden and meticulously worked her garden to perfection. As a dedicated follower of Christ, Pauline maintained a close relationship with her Lord and Savior throughout her lifetime. She was raised in a Pentecostal Church.

She was saved when she was 12, and baptized when she was 13 in the Iowa River. She was a loyal member of the Unionville Baptist Church in Unionville, Iowa. Left to honor her memory include her four children, Lori (Ron) Boyer of Moravia, Iowa, Melvin Trout of Des Moines, Iowa, Jim (Leigh) Trout of Trinidad, Texas, and Michael Trout of LaGrange, California; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren; and a brother, Harold (Mildred) Lloyd of Eldora, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Keith Trout in 1997; along with two brothers, Vernon (Francis) Lloyd and Duane (Rosemary) Lloyd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, March 29, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia with Pastors Josh Davenport and Brian Hargrave officiating. A Visitation will take place Friday, March 29, 2019 at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia, with the family greeting friends from 10:00-11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Unionville Baptist Church, Unionville, Iowa, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www. langefh.com.
