James McLeod Rowell August 09, 1946 – February 03, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mr. James McLeod Rowell, age 73 of Elba, AL passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday February 3, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents Rafus and Lucille Rowell, and his sister Charlotte Marsh. James is survived by his wife, Laura D Womack-Rowell; daughter, Laura F Rowell of Elba; son, Jason B Cox and grandson Johnny Cox of Comanche, TX; brother, Leslie Rowell of Guy, AR; sister, Inez Nason of Pelham, AL; and numerous nieces and nephers.

James was a lifetime citizen of the Curtis Community and ran a working cattle farm for the majority of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunted and fished with his family and friends often. In his younger years, James served his country as a member of the National Guard and later on as a helicopter mechanic at Fort Rucker.

A memorial service will be held by his family at a later date.
