Audrey Wilson Jeffcoat March 06, 1922 – March 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Audrey Wilson Jeffcoat, age 97, of Opp, Alabama, died March 9, 2019 in Mizell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Conecuh County, Alabama on March 6, 1922. The first in her family to attend college, she rode the train from Evergreen to Auburn, where she majored in Home Economics.

She met her husband, G. Ray Jeffcoat, at Auburn. They married at the end of World War II, and made their home in Opp. Mrs. Jeffcoat was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Wilson; and husband, G. Ray Jeffcoat.

She is survived by her two sons, David Jeffcoat (Janet), Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Everett Jeffcoat (Patti), Montgomery; three grandchildren: Mark Jeffcoat, Meredith Turner, and Jill Jones; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, March 11, 2019 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Gary Miller will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Breedlove, Jimmy Jeffcoat, Mark Jeffcoat, Steve Jones, Trippy McGuire and Jeff Waller. Memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church of Opp, or the charity of your choice.

The family appreciates Esther Thompson, Juanita Jacobs, and other caregivers who spent many hours sitting with our mom. We appreciate the dedicated staff of the WoodMoore, Opp Health and Rehab Center, and Mizell Memorial Hospital. We especially appreciate her primary care physician, Dr. Bob Williams.
