James O. Chatell, 75, of John Franklin Road, Coventry, RI, passed on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at home. Born on August 13, 1943 in Providence, RI, he was the husband of Carol A. (Smith) Chatell. They were married for fifty-three years.

He was the son of the late Ovide and Joyce (Hitte) Chatell. James was a welder at General Dynamics Electric Boat, Quonsett Point, North Kingstown, RI, for fifteen years before retiring in 2002. He was a member of Phenix Sportmen’s Club, West Warwick, RI and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Besides his wife he is survived by two sons; Todd J. Chatell and his wife Pamela and Troy T. Chatell and four grand children; Tyler, Emma, Sophie and Morgan. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be prior from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
