Obituary for James P. Thompson James “Jim” P. Thompson, 80, of Sonora went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2019. He was born in Nolin and started working at General Telephone at 18 years old and retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church Sonora.

He will be missed by his wife, Mary Lou Thompson, of 59 years. He was loved by his two children, Craig Thompson and Kimberly Thompson, her husband, Ken Egli, granddaughter, Brittany Balogh, and her husband, David Balogh, adopted granddaughter, Leah Clark-Roberts, and great granddaughter, Brooke Balogh. The family will be at Manakee Funeral Home in Sonora on Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. His celebration of life will be at First Baptist Church in Sonora on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Sonora Cemetery.
