James R. Anderson Sr., 74, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at his residence. He was born on June 24, 1944 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Robert Anderson and Mildred Skinner Anderson. Jim was a veteran of the US Marines and US Army.

He was an electrician for several years and a member of Mecca Christian Church and Prairie Creek American Legion Post 404. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cindy Weddle, infant granddaughter, Jenna Rose Anderson, sister, Mary Jane Anderson and son-in-law, Randy Helt. Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Carolyn Boone Anderson, four children; Jim Anderson Jr. (Alice) of Paris, Illinois, Richard Anderson of Carlisle, Indiana, Myra Helt of Sullivan, Indiana and Michelle Edington (Jason) of Pimento, Indiana, 10 grandchildren; Ronnie Goodman (Tori), Eric Goodman (Hannah), Vaun Anderson, Ian Anderson, Adrian Anderson, Gwen Anderson, Skylar Brown (Dakota), Halle Weddle, Levi Helt, Brandon Edington, and three great-grandchildren; Mason Goodman, Emma Goodman and Nolan Brown.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. According to Jim’s wishes cremation was selected with a burial at Center Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
