Obituary for Mr. James William Middelton James William Middelton (“Bill”) died peacefully on July 4th. Born in Aberdeen, MD, on June 25, 1931, Bill was a proud graduate of McDonogh School, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School. After completing ROTC and serving two years of active duty in the Army during the Korean War, Bill had a distinguished banking career with the Equitable Trust Co from 1957-1983, which included serving as its President and COO, before focusing his career on investment banking.

Bill taught evening banking classes at Johns Hopkins University, and served on multiple boards including McDonogh School, Capital Funding Group, March of Dimes, Glen Meadows Retirement Community, Medical Mutual and the Baltimore Better Business Bureau. He was an elder and served on the Board of Trustees of the Second Presbyterian Church. Beyond his distinguished career, Bill will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving and adoring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

His pride for Baltimore, McDonogh School, the Orioles and his family was immeasurable. His kind and gentle manner, his brilliance and his humble nature will be remembered by all. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Ritter Middelton, and their three children – James William Middelton, Jr., Holly Middelton Tamisiea (John) and Daniel Michael Middelton (Courtney), as well as his sister, Ann Middelton Kelly.

His spirit and love of life are best exemplified through his 4 grandchildren – John Middelton Tamisiea, Grace Marie Tamisiea, Hadley Cooke Middelton and William Cooper Tamisiea. Visitation at the Second Presbyterian Church 4200 St. Paul St. Baltimore, MD 21218, on Monday, July 9th, from 9-10 AM at which time a Memorial Service will be held. A private family interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to McDonogh School Scholarship Fund, 8600 McDonogh Rd. Owings Mills, MD 21117. Upcoming Events Visitation 2018 JUL 9.
