Obituary for James “Zeke” Turner James Daren (Zeke) Turner, 80 years old, of Girard, Illinois died Monday, December 24. Cremation rites have been accorded, services and a Celebration of Life will be held later. James Daren (Zeke) Turner was born Wednesday, January 19 1938, in Quincy, Illinois the son of James R and Arvilla L (Marshall) Turner.

Zeke’s family moved several times due to his father’s employment as manager with FS Services, he therefore attended many different grade schools. He was a graduate of Carlinville High School class of 1956. He attended trade school in St Louis.

Zeke was a lifetime laborer in construction, sold mobile homes in Virden and at the time of his retirement, he worked several years as the owner of his masonry company. He married Vickie Sue Estock on Saturday May 20, 2000, at their home in rural Girard. He was a faithful member of Church of God Worden, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife Vickie Turner of Girard, loyal companions Gus and Mister Mister, brother Dennis (Janice) Turner of Tulsa Oklahoma, sister Linda (Jack) Jacobs of Phoenix Arizona, nieces Kelly (Howard) Framptom of Phoenix Arizona and Julie (Scott) Boehler of Girard. Many great nieces and nephews also survive Zeke. His parents preceded him in death.
