Roberta Marie Curry, 79 of Steilacoom, WA formerly of Pana died January 14, 2019 at the Franciscan Hospice House, University Place, WA. Roberta was born January 11, 1940 in Pana, Christian County, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Gaston and Lala Mae (Milligan) Goethuys. She married Bobby Curry on July 18, 1964 in Pana at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and later blessed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

He died February 18, 1990 at the VA Hospital in Marion Illinois. Roberta graduated from Sacred Heart Parochial School and Pana Sr. High School in 1960. She attended St. Patrick’s Church in Pana, and St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Lakewood, WA.

She was also a member of the Pana Eagles Club #4109 until her death. She loved to sew, toll paint, crafting and had a great passion for genealogy. Surviving are daughter Patricia M. (Vernon) France, Steilacoom, WA; son Kevin J. (Nancy) Turnbeaugh of Saluda, VA; step-daughter Daisy Curry of Miami, FL; step-son Dylan (Chrisanta) Monell of Morristown, TN.

Grandchildren: Daniel C. (Ceri) Turnbeaugh of Greeley, CO; Eric C. (Jessica) Turnbeaugh of St. Louis, MO, and Christina M. (Shane) Thacker of Inola, OK. Step-grandchildren: Ricky S. (Julia) Curry of Miami, FL; Katherrinne Curry of New Market, TN; and Sebastian Rodriguez of Denmark, and several great-grand-children. Sisters: Mary Ann Moss of Lake Wales, FL and Sharon J. (Rick) Badman of Winter Haven, FL; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Happy “Doolittle”.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Bobby, sister Nancy M. Smart, nephew Robert Smart and step-grand daughter Johanna Scandella. Cremation arrangements made through Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home, Tacoma, WA. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials may be made to Sacred Heart School, Pana, Illinois or favorite charity.
