Obituary of Jameson Spence, Sr. Jameson “Jim” W. Spence, Sr., age 75, a lifelong resident of New Egypt, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Compassionate Care Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Hamilton. He was born on July 3, 1942 to the late Michael and Minerva Spence. In 1960, Jim enlisted in the US Navy, which he proudly served as an Airman for 6 years.

He met his better half Ruth Kloss in 1966 and the two were married in 1969. He worked construction for the Local #172 in Bordentown. Jim was very active with several groups including the New Egypt Elks, the Mid-Jersey Region Antique Automobile Club of America in Crosswicks and was a lifelong member of the Clarks Summit PA VFW.

He enjoyed classic and antique cars, tractors and spending time with his family. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Minerva Spence (nee Southard); his adored wife Ruth Spence (nee Kloss); his brother Jackie Spence; and his sister Gwen Huss.

He leaves behind his four children, David Hensor and his wife Michelle of Petersburg PA, Mike Reed and his wife Glenda of Cream Ridge NJ, Kym Spence of Levittown PA, Jameson “Jim” Spence, Jr. and his wife Bridget of New Egypt NJ; his two grandsons Jeff Hensor and David Hensor; his very special granddaughter Samantha Spence; and three great-grandchildren Bryce, Jacob and Leighella; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 6PM to 9PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11:30am at the funeral home with interment to follow at the Brig.

General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim’s honor to the Mid-Jersey Region Antique Automobile Club of America, P.O. Box 127, Crosswicks NJ 08515.
