Obituary of James Renauro James “Jimmy” Renauro, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 6, 2018, at home. He resided with his daughter, Lisa, and granddaughters, JoAnne and Jacqueline (Dave). Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 8, 1931, he moved to New Jersey at a young age and was a lifelong resident of Weymouth Road in Franklin Township.
Jimmy married his grade school sweetheart, Conchetta Grace Musto, in 1951, prior to enlisting in the Army during the Korean War the following year. After boot camp, he was stationed in Germany. During this time, he traveled to different countries throughout Europe.
When he returned home, his father gave him a piece of land to build a house. Some weekends, he would be tending to his flowerbeds, plants, and yard. Other weekends, he’d take the family on getaways along the countryside roads of Pennsylvania.
Jimmy worked in a clothing factory in Vineland before enrolling in the RCA Institute in New York for 2 years. He spent the next 13 years as an Electronic Engineer for RCA in Camden, NJ. He was a very ambitious and independent man.
In 1972, Jim and his wife Connie, bought out Weitzman’s Fabric Store and established The Pin Cushion. He enjoyed going to the store each day and greeting his customers. As his passion for the fabric business grew, he decided to take the business on the road and sell fabric throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Despite retiring in 2004, he continued to work and enjoyed seeing the creative talent of his customers. He had a fascination for airplanes at a young age and even carved his own collection. His favorite one was the B-17.
You could find him at the air shows in Millville and Atlantic City every year with his camera in hand. Jimmy was always the man behind the lens. He’d be sure to take pictures during every holiday, birthday party, and family gathering.
He had all the special lights and equipment to get just the right shot. He set up his own dark room and enjoyed developing his own film. He leaves behind an extensive collection of slides and photos that his family will always treasure.
But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandbabies. Reading to them, watching videos, eating take out, taking them to the park or spending a week in Avalon, Pennsylvania or Florida. The location didn’t matter, as long as the family was together.
He was the most kind, loving, and generous Dad and Pop Pop and will be missed tremendously. Jimmy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Mainiero and Joseph Mainiero; daughter Kimberly Renauro (Richard C. Cervini Jr.); his grandbabies, as he called them, JoAnne Mainiero, Nicholas Cervini (Cynthia), Jacqueline Mainiero (Dave Bryan), Richelle Cervini (Jeffrey Schneidt) and Richard “Chickey” Cervini III; ex-wife Conchetta “Connie” “Tootsie” (Musto) Renauro; his furry great grandkids, especially Autumn; two very special caregivers, Charlie Bawuah and Kaytlin Perez; daughter and son-in-law, Gina & Daniel Monteleone; grandbabies, Jamie, Daniel and Ashley Monteleone. Jimmy was predeceased by infant daughter, Ramona Mary in 1955; parents Peter and Nancy (Triano) Renauro; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nicholas and Anna (Pannullo) Musto; sister Josephine Renauro; brothers, Joseph Rinaro (Katherine), John Renauro and Samuel Renauro (Florence); niece Carol Coker and nephew, Samuel Renauro Jr. A funeral home visitation will be held on Friday from 9am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
Interment will follow in Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Monroe Township.
