Obituary of Sybil Rosen On Friday, November 16, 2018, Sybil Rosen, loving wife and mother of three children passed away at age 87. Sybil was born on July 6, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Isadore and Miriam Goldberg. At a young age, she was recognized for her beautiful voice and a passion for music and the arts.

She attended Arts High School in Newark, NJ the Nation’s First Public High School for the Arts prior to moving to Vineland, NJ where she graduated from Vineland High School. After only 6 weeks of courtship, twenty year old Sybil married David Rosen. The couple remained married until just shy of 60 years.

Sybil was the ultimate household manager. She supported her husband through multiple strategic business moves around the country, raised a family and was always an active member of the local synagogue. She sang in musicals, was a member of B’nai B’rith, Sisterhood, Hebrew Women’s Benevolent Society, Jewish Federation and past president of Hadassah.

Wherever she lived she made lasting friendships. She would spend hours on the telephone. There were days when it seemed as though the phone would not stop ringing!

Sybil was an avid cook and loved to entertain guests in her home. She would spend days sometimes weeks planning events big and small, making sure every was detail just right. Most of all Sybil was a loving and attentive mother and meticulously cared for each of her children and grandchildren.

Sybil is preceded in death by her husband, David. She is survived by her daughter Beth Parent and her husband Richard; son Jeffrey Rosen and his wife, Tammy; daughter Diane Roach and her husband, Scott; her grandchildren Shannon and Adam; her great grandchildren, Wyatt and Tucker and countless others who lovingly call her Aunt Sybil. A graveside service and burial will be held Monday at 1pm from Alliance Cemetery, Norma NJ.
