Obituary of Charles Ferrillo It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Ferrillo announces his passing after an extended illness on Thursday, December 13, 2018. He passed peacefully in his home at the age of 72. Charlie was born on October 24, 1946 in Bridgeton, NJ to Frank and Marguerite (Ianello) Ferrillo.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Glassboro State University and was a dedicated public school teacher for over 40 years. On October 17, 1981 he married Diane Mary Ingling. They raised two children, Lauren and Dustin, and are grandparents to Natalie and Sophia.

Charlie was passionate about the martial arts and held a 6th degree black belt in Okinawan Gojuryu karate. He opened his own dojo, the Okinawan Gojuryu Karatedo, in Vineland in 1976 where he was most proud of the impact his teachings had on his students’ lives. Charlie was a toy train enthusiast with an extensive collection that he enjoyed sharing with friends and family.

He was best known for his sense of humor, dedication to teaching, and devotion to family. He especially cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, making an extra effort to always be there for their life events, big and small. Charlie will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane, his two children, Lauren Canonico (Tim) and Dustin (Carissa), granddaughters, Natalie and Sophia, sister, Agnes Sharp (Bob), brother, John (Sharon), and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, and his mother, Marguerite. A church visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9am to 11;45am followed by a funeral mass at 12 noon from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish – Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Vineland.
