Obituary of Olga Medio Olga DiBrigida Medio was born on July 31, 1926 in Newark, NJ and died peacefully in her sleep at home on November 9, 2018. She moved with her parents to Vineland in April of 1927 when her parents began DiBrigida Farms on West Garden Road. She proudly attended Kingman School for kindergarten through sixth grade, then junior high school for seventh and eighth grade at H.L. Reber School, and graduated from Vineland High School with honors in 1944.

While in school she worked on her parent’s farm, at J.C. Penny clothing store on Landis Avenue and Hartley Goves Glass Factory on State Street. After graduation, she was a bookkeeper at Schiapelli Iron Works and Marrene’s Women’s Wear on weekends. Shortly thereafter, she took a full time job sewing jackets at Newell’s Clothing Factory on Seventh and Quince.

She met her future husband in August of 1945 when he was home after serving a full tour with the Third Battalion in Europe. They were married on November 13, 1948 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Vineland. In 1951, she gave birth to her first son and the couple built their house on Garden Road.

She was a housewife who worked on the family farm and raised her three children. While on the farm she often could be found driving box trucks to the Vineland Produce Auction or the Philadelphia Market on Dock Street. In 1958, she was part of the founders group who planned, raised money for, and built Northwest Swim Club, which opened in May of 1959.

She was a lifetime member and honorary Trustee. She was a founding member of St. Francis Parrish on West Chestnut Avenue, which is now known as Divine Mercy where she was a parishioner since opening the church. At the church, she was the President of the PTA, President of the Ladies of St. Francis Society, and a member of the St. Francis Grandparents Society.

Olga was a strong matriarch who loved hosting and cooking for her family and friends. She was an expert at knitting, making hats, sweaters, blankets, and anything she wanted over the years. She also enjoyed spending her summers at Northwest Swim Club with family and friends.

She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Eugene & Susan Medio; son & daughter-in-law, Franklin & Anne Medio; son, Michael Medio; grandchildren, John (Ashley), Cynthia, Jeffrey (Brittany), Anthony (Kelly) & Steven (Lacey); great-grandchildren, Angelina, Alex, Claire, Ryan, Elena, Emilia & Thomas whom she made sure to meet before she left; nephews, Peter Bisconte (Christine) & Eugene Bisconte; great-niece, Daniele Bisconte; great-nephew, Nicholas Bisconte. She is also survived by many family members and close friends, including her good friend Gloria DeBruno with whom she was friends since childhood.

She was predeceased by: her husband of 53 years, Frank Medio, Jr.; her daughter Anita Louise Medio; her parents Eugenio and Genoveffa Caprio DiBrigida; her sister and brother-in-law Jennie Margaret (DiBrigida) & Angelo Bisconte; and brother Nicola DiBrigida. Funeral home visitations will be held on Monday evening from 6pm to 8pm and again on Tuesday morning from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
