Jane Louise Ragland, of Bloomingdale, IL passed away peacefully on April 30, 2018 at the age of 84. She was born in Detroit, MI on June 28, 1933 to Donald S. Galbraith and Ruth Hudkins Galbraith. Jane spent most of her childhood in Lakewood, OH.

She attended Bowling Green University and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority before transferring to Ohio University to be close to her future husband. Jane married William Noble Ragland on September 12, 1953. Jane loved kids.

She was a first grade teacher in her young adult years, and later became a pre-school director and pre-school teacher later in life at South End United Methodist Church, the church she attended while living in Tennessee. Other passions and interests of Jane included playing cards and games, doing crossword, jumble and Sudoku puzzles, watching game shows, reading books, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Jane was the beloved wife of departed William Noble Ragland; devoted mother of Ruth (Russ) Graunke, Jim Ragland, and Debbie (Jesse) White; loving grandma of Andrew (Alissa) Graunke and Sarah (Colin) Cameron; devoted sister of Martha Wright and Ann Ballard; and caring aunt to two nephews and five nieces.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00am at First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, 535 Forest Ave, with a lunch reception following the service.
