Obituary for Janet Capretta CAPRETTA Janet M. Capretta, age 76, formerly of Columbus, OH, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. Janet was born October 2, 1941, in Columbus, OH, where she lived until she and her husband moved to Destin, FL in 2001. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl, parents Madel and Inez Tarini, and sister, Norma Schumick.

She is survived by her children, Lori (Ned) Darkow of Avondale, PA, Scott Capretta of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Matthew Darkow, Rachel Darkow, Zachary Capretta and Samantha Capretta; brother, Dick Tarini of Columbus; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and many friends. Janet was an avid walker and was known by many on her daily routes. She volunteered for Covenant Hospice, Twin Cities Pavilion and other organizations in Destin.

She never met a stranger and loved planning gatherings with friends. Janet was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan, proudly displaying her flag during football season. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Neighborhood Hospice for their excellent care and overwhelming support during her stay there.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, September 10th, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Rd, Columbus, OH 43212, Msgr. Romano Ciotola, Presider. The family will receive friends after the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider contributions in Janet’s memory to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380 or to the charity of their choice.
