Mrs. Janice A. Gieniec, 84, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Thursday, November 8th at St. Luke’s Hospital-Lehighton. She was the wife of G. James Gieniec of Lehighton. They were married for 64 years on October 16th of this year.

Born October 15, 1934 in Lansford, Pa. , she was a daughter of Sarah Galgoci Yuskanish of Reading, Pa. & the late John Yuskanish.

Janice was a graduate of St. Michael’s Parochial School, Lansford, Pa. and later graduated from Lansford High School. She was a graduate of Allentown Beauty School and later was a self employed Hairstylist with over 30 years of service.

She was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton where she served as a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine instructor for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her loving husband & family. Surviving in addition to her mother & husband is a son, James J. Gieniec & his wife Debra of Lehighton, a sister, Irene Huegel of Wilmington, Delaware, & a granddaughter, Jaime, wife of Nathan Cramer of Reading, Pa.

A Celebration Of Life/Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in her honor will be held on Tuesday, November 13th at 10 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church 242 North 3rd St., Lehighton with the Reverend William N. Seifert officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. in the church. Interment in the parish cemetery following the mass.
