Mrs. Janice Fairlee (Dukes) Gilmer, age 61, of Rockmart passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was born in Douglasville on Sunday, September 23, 1956. Mrs. Gilmer was the daughter of the late James Dukes and the late Eva Ruth (Payne) Gant.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Leevern Gilmer of Rockmart; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wesley and Margie Gilmer of Rockmart and Joseph Gilmer of Rockmart; one daughter, Melissa Rhymer of Greenwood, South Carolina; two brothers, Michael Dukes of Winchester, Tennessee and Edward Gober of Cedartown; six grandchildren, Kayla Gilmer, Waylon Gilmer, Daniel Gilmer, Michael Higginbotham, Albert Rhymer and Ashley Rhymer; her son-in-law, David Higginbotham and a number of other relatives. In accordance with the family’s wishes, Mrs. Gilmer will be cremated. Messages of condolence can be made to the family by signing the online guestbook.

Cremation services are being provided by Hutcheson-Croft Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Temple.
