Janice J. Huntley, (nee-Shephard), 71, of Elyria passed away Sunday November 25, 2018 at her home following a sudden illness. She was born February 6, 1947 in Lorain and was an Elyria resident for most of her life. Janice worked as a teacher for the Elyria Public Schools, spending her entire 36 year career at Prospect School.

She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Gary; sons, Matt Huntley (companion, Lisa Mutnansky), and Mike… Read More » (Rachel) Huntley; sister, Nancy Hanko. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Weber.

The family will receive friends Sunday 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday December 3, 2018 in the funeral home. Rev. Kevin Coleman, pastor of Community United Methodist Church will Officiate.

Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Elyria Chronicle Telegram Not Forgotten Box, 225 East Avenue Elyria, OH. 44035.
