Obituary for Janice Peterson The funeral service for Janice Peterson of Long Prairie, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend with Pastor Allen Mortenson presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. With family at her side, Janice, age 81, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Memorial Nursing Home, Long Prairie, MN.

On November 1st, 1937, Janice Marvel Johnson and her twin sister, Jeanette, were born to Lloyd and Ella Fredericka (Jacobson) Johnson in Eagle Bend, MN. Janice married David Harold Peterson on August 11, 1956, in Eagle Bend. Over the years, Janice used her talents in playing guitar, organ and piano.

She also enjoyed gardening, family picnics, crewel work, watching TV game shows, along with family-oriented shows and movies. Preceding Janice in death were her husband, David; parents Lloyd and Ella; siblings Clara Johnson, Erma Larson, Rueben Johnson, Glen Johnson, Esther Johnson, Margaret Bowers and Merl Johnson; and her four-legged friend, Duchess, her dog. Survivors include Janice’s sons Craig, Tim and Philip Peterson; sisters Gladys Runge of Eagle Bend, Millie Larson of Coon Rapids, and Jeanette Goff of Long Prairie; along with three grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
