Janine Marie Long, 47, of Unity Township, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 27, 2018 in her family home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 30, 1971 in Latrobe, a daughter of Kenneth W. and Marcia B. (Sherrow) Long, of Unity Township. She had been employed by Latrobe Steel and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trauger.

She was the director of Bells Down and loved to bowl with the Ladies of Ligonier. Janine graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. She was a huge Penn State fan and loved to attend the football games.

She was also an avid Snoopy collector and a self-taught guitar player. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Theodore and Marie Long; and her maternal grandparents, Jacob and Bessie Sherrow. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Coriann Stout and husband Cris, of Unity Township; her Godchildren, Dillon and Rachel; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her Penn State family.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 2072 Route 130, Pleasant Unity. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Monday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trauger with the Rev. Mark A. Werner officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Trauger. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 108 Dutch Hill Rd. , Latrobe, PA 15650 or to a charity of one’s choice.
