JB Samuel Bell, 74, of Newport, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Reece’s Chapel Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor James Chadwick. Interment will follow at the Bell-Lilly Cemetery.

JB was a dedicated man who worked as a commercial fisherman for 28 years for Luther Smith and Son’s Seafood. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Belinda Bell of the home; daughter, Julie Sparks of Mill Creek; sons, James Edward Bell of Wake Forest and Jody Allen Bell of Wake Forest; sisters, Josephine Miranda and husband William of Mill Creek and Martha Frame of Mill Creek; brothers, Lindsey Bell of Bear Creek and Elton Guy Bell of North Carolina; grandchildren, Lola Maxine Bell, Cody James Bell, Elton Jay Bell, Emily Jean Bell and Jesse Ray Bell; and great-granddaughter, Shelby Bell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Thelma Bell; and sisters, Betty Bell and Frances Marie Lilly. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Reece’s Chapel Baptist Church. Flowers are welcome.
