JEAN’s Obituary Jean Chaney O’Nan, 72, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center surrounded by family. She was a 1964 graduate of Henderson City High School and a 1966 graduate of Madisonville School of Practical Nursing. Jean was employed as a LPN at Methodist Hospital for 22 years.

She was a Baptist. Jean loved cats, cooking shows, and reading. She was preceded in death by one son, Alvie Franklin O’Nan, Jr., who died in 1967; one granddaughter, Claudia Alice Lemming, who died in 2010; her parents, Geraldine and Herschel Turner; and her grandparents, Claudia and John William Carrier (who had founded Golden Glaze Bakery).

Survivors include one daughter, Julie Lemming and her husband, Steven, of Henderson, Kentucky; one son, John O’Nan of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Mary Turner of Morganfield, Kentucky; one brother, James A. Chaney of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Jonathan Barker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Morgan O’Nan of Henderson, Kentucky, and Nate O’Nan of Dawson Springs, Kentucky; one uncle, Ralph Carrier of Corydon, Kentucky; one niece and one nephew; and cousins. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fairmont Cemetery. The Reverend Alan Chamness will officiate.

There will be no visitation. Contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice. Jean’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Anthony’s Hospice for their kindness and loving care.
