Jean Robinson Glasgow, 96, of Morehead City, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Crystal Bluff Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. A private memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church. Jean was born August 30, 1922 in Grove City, PA.

She attended Grove City College and Ohio University. She was a very loving and gracious wife and mother. Her husband “Bill” served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a bomber flight instructor.

Jean and Bill along with her brother “Jim” moved to Jacksonville in 1953 to assist Jean’s Dad in running the Jacksonville Daily News. Bill and Jean later moved to Morehead City where they spent their remaining years. Jean will always be known for her wonderful smile and her caring service to others, as well as a loving mother to her three boys and their wives.

Her true Southern Hospitality will be missed by many. She was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts, Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and an active member and volunteer at First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City. She is survived by her son, Thomas W. Glasgow and wife Jackie Glasgow; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Glasgow; grandchildren, Laura E. Glasgow, Rebekah E. Capps and husband Scotty, Thomas B. Glasgow and wife Molly, Cameron Glasgow; great grandchildren, Abigail M. Glasgow, Wyatt K. Capps, Thomas F. Capps, Etta B. Glasgow.

The family would like to express a special thank you for her caretaker, Terry Kington; and special employees at Crystal Bluffs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, William K. Glasgow; sons, Douglas B. Glasgow and William D. Glasgow; parents, James and Helen Robinson; brother, James B. Robinson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1604 Arendell St, Morehead City, NC.
