Jean T. Norris, 86, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Ohio County on October 22, 1932 to the late Henry L. Tanner and Jessie L. Patton Tanner. She retired from GE after working more than 40 years.

She was a member of Third Baptist Church and was involved with the Sunday School. She enjoyed creative writing, reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles and drawing. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Fred Tanner.

She is survived by her spouse, Charles “Boots” Norris, her children, Kathy Kuegel and Scott (Tami) Norris of Owensboro, 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her sister, Madaline (William E.) Miller of Owensboro, and her sister-in-law, Billie Tanner. Services will be 12:00 pm Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, February 1, 2019 at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and again from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Third Baptist Church; 527 Allen Street; Owensboro, Kentucky 42303. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
