Obituary for Jeanne S. Peterson Jeanne Peterson, age 95, of Byron Center passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Byron Center Manor. She was born the daughter of Edward and Florence (Kuzma) Schaap on July 17, 1923, in Grand Rapids. She married Paul Peterson on June 26, 1943 and he preceded her in Death on Christmas Day 1996.

She was a fantastic cook and baker. When asked for a recipe it was usually “oh it is just a little of this and some of that”. She loved cookbooks and would read them like a novel.

She had a collection of cookbooks which numbered over 100 books . She loved the family ‘get togethers’ and family holidays. Her passion was reading books of any kind.

Jeanne is survived by her children, Sally and Jerry Wolters of Byron Center, Carey and Larry Wyman Jr. of Clare, Paul Peterson of Byron Center, grandchildren; Jeff and Jess Wolters, Matt and Cathy Wolters, Brad and Claire Wolters, Nick and Krista Wyman, Ally and Dylan Abbott, Amanda Peterson and Andrew Peterson, and five great-grandchildren Cameron, Brady, Ella, Breslin, and Eva, and her Niece Mary Jo Beld. She was preceded in death by her husband, her granddaughter, Emily Wyman, her sister, Kay Lilly, and her nephew Lonny Lilly. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept.

10, at 11 AM at the Carlisle United Methodist Church, Byron Center, with burial to follow in the Winchester Cemetery, Byron Center, Mi. Friends may meet with her family at the Byron Center Chapel of Cook Family Funeral Home on Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
