Obituary for James E. Hamilton James E. Hamilton, age 69 of Clare County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. On November 1, 1948, James was born the son of Jacob and Sarah (Black) Hamilton in Dearborn Heights, MI. He was united in marriage to Christina Domako in Detroit, MI.

on March 30, 1968 and the pair enjoyed fifty years of marriage. During his working years, James had the opportunity to build many relationships in various lines of work. He began his work career around logistics, having served as dispatcher for trucking companies in the Dearborn area until 1984 when he had attended and graduated from the Specs Howard On-Air Broadcasting School.

After his graduation, James and his family moved to the Clare County area where he would later serve as the radio voice for stations in Beaverton, Harrison, and Clare. After choosing to remain in Clare County rather than relocate his family for his broadcasting career, James had opportunities to work in the lens finishing labs for Pro-Optics and again in the logistics arena for Frostbite Dairy. James finished his career as the long-time shipping and receiving manager for Jay’s Sporting Goods.

James had many passions in life that included camping and campfires, horses, movies, Florida vacations, and especially golfing. However, all of those passions took second place to spending time with his loving family. James is survived by his wife Christina of Clare County, his children Tim (Clarinda) Hamilton of Dayton, OH.

, and Miel (Benjamen) Good of Clare County, and his grandchildren Ryan, Todd, Jared, Grant, Jacob, David, Olivia, Ella, and Avry. He is also survived by his siblings Priscilla (John) Cipolletti, Sandy (John) Drija, Pat (Dave) Cassar, Emma (Mike) Steve, Linda Hamilton, Marsha (Craig) Phillips, and Thomas Hamilton. James was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Sarah Hamilton, his son Todd Hamilton, his brother-in-law Raymond McCurdy, and his sister-in-law Veronica Hamilton.

A celebration of James’ life will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Brown Corners United Brethren Church of Clare at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeremiah Ketchum officiating. Friends may visit with James’ family at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the Hamilton requests that memorial contributions in honor of James be directed toward Camp Living Waters.
