Obituary for Jimmie Lee Neal Jimmie Lee Neal, age 75 of Farwell, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 16, 2018. On May 26, 1943, Jimmie was born the son of Robert and Jane (Brown) Neal in Lansing, Michigan. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Nelson on September 30, 1967 in Lansing, and the couple enjoyed just over fifty-one years of marriage together.

Not long after his high school graduation from Alma High School, Jimmie enlisted as a member of the U.S. Army. Jimmie very proudly served in Vietnam having earned various service, campaign, and expert rifleman medals. When his military service ended, Jimmie began a working career with General Motors, eventually reaching the management level of the emission control testing department.

In 2001, Jimmie retired from General Motors and moved from Holt, MI. to Farwell with Carolyn. Jimmie was a proud two-time Boy Scout Troop Leader, having earned his Wood Badge and raising two sons to the level of Eagle Scout.

He was also passionate about camping, taking on any home remodel project, and traveling to warm places during the Michigan winters with Carolyn. He also greatly enjoyed watching NASCAR races, especially when Jimmie Johnson made it to victory lane. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife Carolyn of Farwell, his sons Timothy (Karen) Neal of Hartwell, GA.

and Lieutenant Colonel Patrick (Michelle) Neal of Hamilton, OH. as well his mother Jane Brown of Clare. Also surviving Jimmie are his cherished grandchildren Hunter, Maverick, Ashley (Andrew), Alexis, his great-grandson Hayden and his sister Judi (Richard) Cox of Mesa, AZ.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his father Robert Neal and his grandson Nicholas Mayes. A memorial service in honor of Jimmie will take place on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Farwell Chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Elder Susan Carpenter officiating. Friends may visit the Neal family at the funeral home Friday from 12:00-1:00 P.M. Memorial contributions in honor of Jimmie are recommended to the MidMichigan Home Care and Hospice.
