Obituary for Mrs. Jeanne Sharon Baker Mrs. Jeanne Sharon Baker, age 76 of Macclenny, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2018. Born on May 17, 1942 to the late Mr. George and Jessie Moore, Mrs. Baker was a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Previously living in Maxville and St. Augustine, Mrs. Jeanne had been a resident of Baker County for the last 35 years.

Her greatest achievement, aside from being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was returning to college at age 40, obtaining her nursing degree from Florida Community College at Jacksonville. She then went on to work as a registered nurse for many years at UCI in Raiford, as well as at Northeast Florida State Hospital. She also was a recipient of the Governor’s Sterling Award during her time at NEFSH.

When not working, Mrs. Baker enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren that she adored. She also had a love for animals and was particularly fond of Pepsi. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and as a very outgoing woman.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her loving husband of many years: Christopher Baker of Macclenny; daughters: Mistique (Steven) Woolsey of Panama City, Sandra (Bernie) Ratliff of Glen St. Mary, and Stacey (Frank) Shadix of Niceville; grandchildren: Christina (Shon) Leckwold of Arizona, Ashley (Joey) Katsacos of Macclenny, and Cody Ratliff of Glen St. Mary; numerous other family members and friends also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Rita Robinson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11:00 am, in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny with Brother Kenneth Thompson officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Community Hospice.
