Jen Andeweg Obituary Photo

Jennette (Jen) Estelle Noordsy Andeweg was born on October 14, 1932, in Monroe, South Dakota, to Harvey and Bertha Noordsy. She was the second-oldest of four children. She attended Central College in Pella where she graduated with her teaching certificate.

She taught for one year in Monroe, Iowa, and later became a substitute teacher for many years in the Pella Community School System. She was married to Logan Andeweg on June 25, 1953, at her home church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. To this union were born three children, Steve, Sue and Bob.

Jen was very active and had many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, cooking and gardening. She also loved music, enjoying singing in her church choir and playing the organ at home. In later years she became interested in photography and took many pictures of her beautiful garden at home and of places she and Logan visited during their many travels.

She and Logan became snowbirds in their later years and she enjoyed her home in Mesa, Arizona, and their many friends while they were there. Jen served as National President of T.T.T. for two years, 1993-1995. Above all else, Jen’s best achievement was her family.

Besides her husband, Logan, and her three children, Steve (Arlene) Andeweg; Sue (Dan) Martens; and Bob (Charity) Andeweg, Jen leaves behind six grandchildren whom she adored, Derek Andeweg; Erica Andeweg; Bill (Jill) Boyd; Justin (Brynn) Boyd; Christina Andeweg; and Erin Andeweg, as well as five great grandchildren, Will and Tommy Boyd; and Claire, Dusty and Kate Boyd. She is also survived by her three brothers, Harvey Noordsy; Ron Noordsy; and Adrian Noordsy, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Bertha Noordsy and her parents-in-law, Leroy and Wilma Andeweg.

Jen was also very fond of her numerous first cousins, many of whom survive her.
