Jennifer Lynn Basden, age 64, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 1, 2018 at her home in Crescent City surrounded by family. She was born on September 27, 1953 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to parents George G. Irvine and Yvonne E. Gilman. Jennifer spent her early childhood years in Wisconsin before the family later relocated to Northern California.

She attended and graduated from Durham High School, before studying law at Butte Community College. Jennifer was married to Steven… Read More » Basden in her early 20’s and became the proud mother of two boys. Jennifer later devoted much of her life to the home health care field, a career in which she found great reward and happiness in caring for people who could not care for themselves.

She was passionate about art and enjoyed both drawing and painting. She loved collecting driftwood, rocks and other treasures from the beach. Jennifer had a soft spot in her heart for animals and rescued several cats and dogs that needed a home.

Jennifer is survived by her sons Miah Basden and Fred Irvine, brothers Dean and Gary Irvine, and sister Joan Running, as well as many nieces nephews and cousins. The celebration is for all family and friends to honor and show love for Jennifer’s life, knowing we will carry her memory in our hearts forever.
