In Loving Memory Jerome “Jerry” Joseph Kleinman, M.D. of Indian Hill, Ohio, passed away, Thursday, September 27, 2018. Jerry was born on December 30, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio to Sam and Lily (Simon) Kleinman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mara Kleinman; loving father of Ellen Rubin (Douglas), Lauren Mastics (George), and Sondra Isaacs; loving grandfather of George Mastics, III, Spenser Isaacs, Rachel Mastics, Lily Rubin, Sophie Isaacs, and Joshua Rubin.

He will also be profoundly missed by many of his close friends who he considered family. Jerry was a well-known child psychiatrist in the Cincinnati area for over 45 years. He graduated from Ohio State University and University of Louisville School of Medicine.

He interned at Mount Sinai Medical Center, did his residency at University Hospital – University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Psychiatry, and University Hospital Fellowship, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. At University Hospital he trained under two legendary doctors. Maurice Levine who was responsible for significant growth of the program.

He also trained under Othilda Krug who founded the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training program that developed the reputation for one of the largest and best training programs for child psychiatrists. His patients and colleagues will miss him as well. In addition to his many professional accomplishments, cooking, storytelling and above all his wonderful sense of humor will never be forgotten.
