Jerome’s Obituary Jerome Kearney, 84, of Archbald, peacefully passed away on January 16th surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his companion of 25 years, Ann Rusavage. Born on October 4, 1934, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Catherine Ahern Kearney.

In addition to his companion, he was preceded in death by his brother Paul Kearney; four sisters, Lucille Reedy; Agnus Mellow; Irene Speicher; Sister Cornelian Kearney, I.H.M; and nephew Robert “Butchie” Speicher. He was a member of Christ the Kind Parish as well as the 158 Labor Union, and served in the US army. He was a loving father and grandfather with a big heart who always did what was needed to provide and support his family.

His sense of humor and wit were like no other, and lending a helping hand or doing a favor for a friend was never a problem. Jerome’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Allied Hospice, especially to Barb Schlasta and Danielle Magraner for the compassionate care they provided. Surviving are two sons, Jerome Kearney Jr., Dunmore; William Kearney and wife Donna, Archbald; two daughters, Catherine Orlowsky and husband Robert, New York; AnnMarie Maslar and companion Jim Wojciechowski, Eynon; 6 grandchildren, Tanya, Tara, Ryan, Jennifer, Mathew, and the light of his life Kristen, whom he adored and cherished; and five great-grandchildren, Adam, Logan, Noah, Connor, and Ellie.

A mass of remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish in Archbald. Memorial contributions can be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd, South Abington Township, PA 18411, to commemorate the affection of his four-legged companion, Anya.
