Obituary for Jerry Dean Conn Jerry Dean Conn, age 85 of Fort Collins CO, passed away on April 21, 2018. Born on November 21, 1932 in Maryville, Missouri, Jerry moved to Colorado as a child with his family. Jerry was educated in the Denver Public Schools, graduated from South High School and The University of Denver where he studied business and played varsity football.

Jerry served 2 years of active duty in the US Air Force in Sacramento, CA as well as 11 years in The US Air Force Reserves back in Colorado. Upon returning to Denver after his active military service he raised four kids while working at Rockmont Envelope Company for 22 years and then retired after working more than 15 years at CSU Housing and Dining Services in Fort Collins. He was a dedicated, hard working man and devoted to his family.

Jerry was at home in the mountains and spent much of his time at the family cabins in Pingree Park. He dedicated his time and energy to his family, leading them on many outdoor hiking adventures as well as working alongside them during countless cabin projects. His love, respect and stewardship of nature lives on with his children and grandchildren.

He was never seen without his devoted wife, Betty and their 60 plus year marriage is one to celebrate. He was an avid bird watcher and he and Betty took numerous trips to see birds in AZ and New Mexico. He enjoyed family celebrations and dinners, especially when it came to whipped cream and pumpkin pie.

He had a big heart and touched many lives. Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty (Kuhlke) Conn; and children, Bill and Judy (Carlson) Conn of Fort Collins, Brian and Julie (Hansen) Conn of Fort Collins, Terry and Sue (Awsumb) Conn of Livermore; his grandchildren, Jordan, Jared, Betsy and Henry Conn. He also leaves his nephew, Ronald Conn and family; niece, Carolyn (Conn) Sandore and family; cousins, Shirley Thompson, Harry Fryer and Mary Fender; sister-in-law, Ruth Conn; brother-in-law, William Kuhlke; nephews-in-law, Lee Kuhlke and Kevin Kuhlke; nieces-in-law, Barbara Kuhlke, Diana Kuhlke, Jeannie Kuhlke and Karen Kuhlke; and cousin-in-law, JD Dorwart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorse and Inez (Duncan) Conn; daughter, Gail Ann Conn; brother, William Conn; uncle, Ray Duncan and aunt, Fern Duncan; cousin, Mary (Ferral) Dorwart; father-in-law, William Kuhlke; mother-in-law, Lillian (Vickers) Kuhlke; and brother-in-law, Dale Kuhlke. Jerry will be forever remembered, loved and missed by his family and friends. Graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins on May 18th at 11am.
