Obituary for Jerry Dean Prince Jerry Dean Prince, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at his home. Born June 29, 1936, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Harold Frank Prince and Elenora Shirley Prince. A U. S Marine Corps veteran and member of the VFW, Mr. Prince served two tours of duty in Korea.

He was a surveyor with the SC Highway Department, Fiske Carter Construction, and Roebuck Builders. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed hot peppers (which was a family trait) and was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his brother, F. Don Prince; and his loving companion for over 50 years, Edna L. Maxwell.

He is survived by his niece, Susan Prince Sargent; aunt, Mildred Cromer; Edna’s children, Linda Gibson (Adam) and Ronnie Maxwell (Sue); grandchildren, Crissy Melton and Blake Melton; and first cousin, Marlene Wilds. A graveside service, with military rites by American Legion Post #28, will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, April 13, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd. , Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev.

Scott Lewellen. Visitation will follow at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Walnut Hill Baptist Church, 675 Walnut Hill Church Road, Campobello, SC 29323.
