Obituary for Richard Alton Lenderman Richard Alton Lenderman, 69, of Spartanburg, SC was born January 13, 1949 and left us in the early morning of Monday, April 9, 2018. Rick was born in Anderson, SC to parents Lily Rebecca Bracken Lenderman and Alton Lamar Lenderman. Rick was a long standing member of Hacker Creek Hunt Club.

He loved the outdoors; camping, hunting, and especially fly fishing in the trout streams of North Carolina. He graduated University of South Carolina in 1971 as a Civil Engineer and continued on to work for Harwood Beebe, BP Barber, Summit Engineering, and Toxaway Grading. Rick was much loved by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Putnam Lenderman; children, Amy Gray Lenderman and Anna Lee Lenderman Van Abel (Joshua); grandchild, Luke Gideon Van Abel; and his brothers, his best friends, Michael Henry Lenderman (Shearon) and Gordon Hale Lenderman (Julie).

Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A service honoring his memory will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by The Rev. Robert Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Foundation, 321 Columbus Avenue Suite 5R, Boston, MA 02116; Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 101 Saint Matthews Lane, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Appreciations are expressed to: Dr. Edward Wolin, Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York City, NY; Dr. Caio Max Rocha Lima, Amanda, Indrea, nurses and staff in the lab and infusion Center at Gibbs Cancer Center; Dr. Snipes, the nurses and staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home– a special thanks to Dr. Taylor for the peace, comfort and joy her singing brought to us all.
