Jerry Don Shekell, 80, of Paducah passed away at 2:35 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Shekell was a Truck Driver, Farmer, a member of the Teamsters Local Union 237 and he was of the Pentecostal faith. Jerry was an avid golfer and loved Paxton Park as a place to play golf.

He is survived by his wife, L. Karen (Orr) Shekell of Paducah; two daughters, LaDonna Shekell Pinson and husband Jerry of Brooks, KY, Sallie Shekell Martin of Jackson, TN; two sons, Shane Rust and wife Brandi of Paducah, Johnny Rust and wife Donna of Milburn, KY; one sister, Carol Ann Holmes of Paducah; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbie (Bennett) Shekell; his parents, Jim Shekell and Sallie Mae (Hargis) Shekell; four brothers; three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Jeremy Pinson and Brother Joe Harper officiating.

Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions made to Lourdes Hospice, PO Box 7100, Paducah, KY 42002-7100 or Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Ln Ste 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284.
