Jerry Douglas Rogers of Stillwater, Oklahoma November 18, 1939 – March 16, 2019 Jerry Douglas Rogers, a longtime Stillwater resident, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Hillcrest Hospital in Claremore at the age of 79. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 at Yale Assembly of God. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Jerry was born on November 19, 1939 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to the late John D. and Edith Mae (Cason) Rogers. He grew up in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1957. Jerry attended NOC for a year before entering the U.S. Navy where he served his country for 18 years.

Jerry served during the Vietnam Era and was a trained Fire Control Technician. After returning home from the service, he made his home in California. Jerry began working for the Post Office, retiring in 2002.

Jerry married Charolette Mitchell on June 16, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV. , they moved to the Stillwater where they made their home. They attended the Yale Assembly of God.

Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. After taking ill, he moved into the Veterans Home in Claremore for the last few years of his life. Jerry will be missed by his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife Charolette Rogers of the home, children Brian Pierce and wife Deanna of Sunnyvale, Ca. , Brenda Strand and husband Michael of Anchorage, Alaska, Glenn Rogers of Twenty nine Palms, CA. , Renee McDonald and husband Alvin of Indiana, Marvin Rogers and wife Jennifer of Fayetteville, N.C., Andrew Rogers of Palm Springs, CA.

, sisters Gail J. Golden of Oklahoma City, Sybil (Stillwill) Hager of Ponca City and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Belva Rogers.
