OBITUARY Jerry Douglas Rushing February 15, 1941 – September 7, 2018 Mr. Rushing, age 77, of Mint Hill, died Friday, September 8, 2018 at his home. Born February 15, 1941 in Mint Hill, he was the son of the late Carl Rushing and Gertie Crump Rushing. Mr. Rushing served in the U.S. Navy.

Prior to retirement, he was a self-employed in the construction industry. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 11th at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel. The service to celebrate Mr. Rushing’s life will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Janet; and two sisters, Helen Beaver (Wes) of Maryville, TN and Margaret Lechler (Edwin) of McGregor, TX. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rushing was preceded in death by a son, Jonmark; sister, Nadine Helms; and brothers, Steve, Dave, Jay Lee and Clarence.
