Jerry James Fortin, Sr., lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at his home on December 27, 2018. He was born to the late Dennis and Martha Fortin and was the youngest of their seven children. Jerry was 74 at the time of his passing.

Jerry proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his return home, he went to work for the U.S. Post Office, where he retired after 50 years of service. He was an active longtime member of the Fraternity Order of the Eagles Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Catherine Anne, and his son, Jerry, Jr., as well as five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and by his sister, Irene Garaffa. He was predeceased by wife, Elizabeth, in 2008, and his wife, Bonnie, in 2016. A celebration of Jerry’s life will take place on Friday, January 4th, 4pm to 7pm, at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT.
