Jerry Wayne Ratledge, Sr. went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at the age of 72. He was born June 28, 1946, the son of the late Clyde and Ella Tutterow Ratledge. Also preceding him in death was his beloved son, Corey, who passed away August 15, 2000, a sister, Tuffie Johnson, and two brothers, John and Richard Ratledge.

Jerry loved going to church and fellowshipping with other Christians. He was a member of Hope Baptist Tabernacle. In the past he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and church bus driver.

He enjoyed fishing and talking about old cars. “Papaw” was always doing things with his grandkids. He was a retired truck driver.

He will be greatly missed by all his family, especially by his wife of 52 years, Carol Wood Ratledge; four sons: Jerry Wayne Ratledge, Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Lewisville, and their children, Elizabeth, Amy and Megan; son, Randy and wife, Alicia, and their children, Jesse, Miranda, Bruce and Lauren and Jerry’s five great grandchildren, Colton, Eli, Callie, Brantly and Tristan; son, Bradley and wife Carrie and their children, Jake, Alex and Grace; and son, Clay and wife, Mackenzie, and their children, Maddie and Charlie; plus two sisters, Bonnie Boggs (Randy) and Mary Reavis, all of Mocksville. The family will receive friends at Hope Baptist Tabernacle from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday, November 3. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM in the church with Pastors Chris Cantrell and Kevin Hobson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove UMC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please honor Jerry’s memory by making contributions to the Hope Baptist Tabernacle Youth Group, 2408 US Hwy. 158 N., Mocksville, NC 27028.
