Jesse Reginald Lockard, 91, of Westminster passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN while vacationing with his family. Born November 15, 1926 in Patapsco, MD he was the son of the late Lionel and Naomi (Taylor) Lockard. He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret Esther (Taylor) Lockard, his loving wife of 66 years, whom the Lord called home in 2013.

Jesse was a maintenance mechanic at Congoleum Nair Corporation in Finksburg, retiring after 44 years of service. He was a life-long member of Carrollton Church of God in Finksburg where he served as a greeter and bell-ringer for many years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and the Army National Guard, serving during World War II.

He was a long-standing member of Moose Lodge 1381 and VFW Post 467 in Westminster. Jesse loved all animals, the summer season and being outdoors. He enjoyed singing karaoke, traveling, attending car shows and family gatherings and celebrating holidays.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them on bike rides, longs walks and visits to the park. Jesse was an avid walker who loved life and greeted every day and everyone with a smile. Surviving are his children, Judy Miller and partner Tom Stonesifer, Nita Jones, Chris Lockard-Windsor and husband Stan and Jesse Lockard, Jr. and wife Rose, all of Westminster; sister, Lorraine Stair of Westminster; brother-in-law, Mike Taylor and wife Sharon of Westminster; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved wife Margaret, he was predeceased by brothers, Brentwood and Arthur Lockard; sisters, Virginia Starner and Gwendolyn Rill; and sons-in-law, Richard Duvall and Jim Jones. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Carrollton Church of God, 1901 Carrollton Rd. , Finksburg, MD 21048, with Pastor Dave Meador officiating.

Burial will follow in the Carrollton Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 16th at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. .
