Obituary for Jessie S. Hughes Jessie S. Hughes, 92, of Marion, passed away Friday April 13, 2018, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. Per her request, there will be no service. Cremation will take place and she will be buried in Ocala, Florida, with her husband.

Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Jessie was born on December 30, 1925, in North English, Iowa, the daughter of Wallace and Katie (Hardy) Carter. She is the last of seven siblings.

Jessie was married to Charles R. Hughes, and they made their home in Winona, Minnesota until her retirement from Winona Knitting Mills. They then moved to Ocala, Florida. After the passing of her husband, she moved back to Iowa to be near family.

Jessie is survived by her daughter, Kathy Olson of Marion; two grandsons, Eric (Jody) Olson of Galena, Illinois and Aaron (Helene) Olson of Marion; two great grand-children, Roger and Heidi Olson of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles, in 2003; son, Roger, in 1973; and six siblings. The family would also like to thank To The Rescue for their tender loving home care as well as Willow Gardens & Mercy Hospice for their care and compassion.
