Jimmy “Earlene” Roper, of Seminole departed this life on Thursday, January 10th, 2019 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 71 years. She was born November 11, 1947 in Okemah, OK to the late Tillman Eugene Brewer and Hazel Ann Irons Brewer. She attended Butner School and received a Bachelor Degree from East Central University.

Earlene married Jerry Roper May 14, 1965 in Okemah, OK and too this union four children were born. Mrs. Roper was Home Economics teacher at Sasakwa, Weleetka, Ryan,… Read More » and Paoli. She loved to teach and loved each of her students.

Earlene enjoyed teaching so much that after she retired she would often substitute at Butner Schools. Earlene enjoyed crocheting and arts and crafts. She was very religious in her faith and was a member of Cromwell First Baptist Church.

Preceding Earlene in death are her parents, son Jerry Dale Roper, two brothers Dale Eugene Brewer and Steven Brewer. Survivors include her husband Jerry Roper of fifty-three years of the home, son Jay “Scott” Roper of Noble, OK; two daughters; Jimi Dawn Vazquez and husband Lupe of Seminole, Ok, and Jama LeAnn Roper of McLoud, OK; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one on the way, two siblings; Ruth Dennison of Tecumseh, OK and Carlis Flowers of Cromwell, OK, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday January 14, 2019 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nick Atyia officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka, OK under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka, OK Pallbearers are Rance Roper, Braden Roper, Andre Zazquez, Steve Brewer, Sean Brewer and Jim Flowers.
