Peggy’s Obituary Peggy Phifer Graveside services for Peggy Lee (McClain) Phifer, 91, of Lula are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Savanna Cemetery at Savanna, OK. Rev. Ed Rutherford will officiate.

Mrs. Phifer passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 in Ada. She was born March 19, 1927 at Stigler to Jim and Beulah Weir McClain. Mrs. Phifer moved to this area in 1998 from Indianola.

She married Robert E. “Cob” Phifer July 26, 1952 at DeQueen, AR. He preceded her in death May 3, 1990 at McAlester. Mrs. Phifer worked as a nurse’s aide for anumber of years.

After retiring, she was a babysitter for several years and she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Savanna. Granny enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, show their pigs at stock shows and she loved to attend church. Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Ward and her husband Bucky of Lula; a son, Jim Steel and wife Darlene of Fort Smith, AR; a brother, Jerry McClain and wife Helen of Savanna; her grandchildren, Tammy Ward, Linsey (Ward) Williams, Robert Steel, Randall Steel, T. J. Steel and Michael Steel; her great-grandchildren, Dillon and Bryar Blessing, Tyler Williams and numerous other great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
