Martha’s Obituary Martha Skinner Memorial services for Martha Ellen Skinner, 78 of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at the First United Methodist Church in Ada, Rev. Brian Matthews and Dr. Roberto Escamilla will officiate. Mrs. Skinner passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at a local nursing home.

She was born September 13, 1940 at Iowa Park, TX to Leonard Elbert and Nellie Helen Reaser Winstead. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX. She married Tom Skinner.

He preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Skinner was a school teacher in art eduction, a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Golden Agers and the Chancel Choir. She loved a variety of music and enjoyed listening to youth and children perform.

Survivors include two brothers, Joe Everett Winstead of Magnolia, AR and Leonard Butch Winstead of Newcastle, TX; and her nieces, Cynthia Jo Winstead Backstrom and husband Hakan of Springfield, MO and Julia Courtney Cunningham and husband Dustin of Orlando, FL; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Dr. Janet Winstead of Bridgewater, VA.
