Odell’s Obituary Odell Deaton Services for Thomas Odell Deaton, 84, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church, Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home. Mr. Deaton passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at his home. He was born February 23, 1934 at the Lovelady Community, east of Ada to T. O. “Dude” and Lavonia Jared Deaton.

He attended Lovelady grade school and graduated from Byng High School in 1953. He married Pokey Cantrell June 3, 1955. She preceded him in death February 6, 2016.

He later married Mary Lou Thompson. Odell was co-owner of Deaton and Manuel Construction with Lonnie Manuel and was also a farmer. He served in the U. S. Navy and was stationed at Mare Island off of the coast of California.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou, of the home; a daughter, Denise Adams and husband Brad of Tuttle; two sons, Tommy Deaton and wife Karrie of Ada and Teddy Wayne Deaton and wife Misty of Atwood; two bonus sons, Mickey Thompson and Jon Thompson; three sisters, Mary Jo Reynolds, Pat Coffey and Debbie Christian; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anita Meeks and Teri Smith; and a granddaughter, Ashley Adams. Bearers will be his sons and grandchildren.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
