Obituary for Jimmy Martin Slate Jimmy Martin Slate, age 79 of Greenbrier, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018 at his residence. Arrangements entrusted to Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 2619 Hwy 41 S., Greenbrier, TN 37073. The family will receive friends 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday, Dec.

5th and 11am to 1pm on Thursday, Dec. 6th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier. The funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Bro.

Jerry Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. Jimmy was born May 22, 1939 in Greenbrier to the late Jack Martin and Novella Howard Slate.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Browning. He was a Plumber-pipe fitter with Rock City Mechanical, a member off Hillcrest Church of Christ and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jones Slate; sons, Jeremy Mark (Rhonda) Slate of Greenbrier, Joe Howard (Kathy) Slate of Springfield; brother, Carl Lee (Shirley) Slate of Greenbrier; sister, Patsy Nevels of Greenbrier; grandchildren, James (MacKenna) Slate, Aaron (Savannah) Slate, Nicole (James) Mixon, Ethan Slate; great-grandchildren, McKinley Slate and Mattie Slate.

Pallbearers will be James Slate, Aaron Slate, Ethan Slate, Brandon Jones, Brian Jones and James Mixon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Potters Children Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.
